Subject: June 2020 Office Updates

Dear Patients,

We have adopted certain policies to mitigate the spread of COVID19. 

Updated Office Hours: 

Basking Ridge office:  Monday 10AM-1PM; Friday 2PM -7PM

Verona office: Tuesday 3PM-7PM;  Saturday: 9AM to 1PM

·  We will run our office at 50% capacity to ensure sufficient cleaning of each treatment room between patients. 

For Patients

1. Before Your Visit:

·  Please fill out the COVID19 informed Consent form before your next visit. You will receive it in a separate email. Or you can fill it out at the office before your visit. 

2. Upon your arrival:

·  If you see another person in the waiting area, please maintain 6 feet of social distance. 

·  DO NOT USE any of the waiting area materials (books, magazines, brochures) that are intended to be reused and are difficult to disinfect. 

·  Please use the hand sanitizer next to the water dispenser at your arrival and before you leave.

·  Regardless of symptoms, it is mandated to check your body temperature and record the result.

3. During the treatment: 

·  Please wear comfortable, loose clothing for easy accessibility to acupuncture points.

·  The acupuncturist will wear a KN95 mask or surgical mask with facial shield when closely treating patients and during consultations. We will continue to follow other universal precautions to ensure your safety. 

·  Although, after each use of the room, we disinfect every surface, please limit your contact with the items in the treatment rooms and in common areas.

4. Signing out:

·  We recommend bringing your own pen. We do frequently disinfect the pens, yet you can use alcohol wipes provided to clean the pen again before your use.

·  As we do not have a receptionist working at the front desk, we will keep the door closed for most of the time. Please use the tissue provided to avoid contact with the door handle. 

Hope the above implementations did not give you more stress.  Indeed, all you have to do is to (1) Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds; (2) Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth; and (3) Avoid crowded enclosed environments. 

Acupuncture is a complex branch of ancient Chinese Medicine, which has been in use for more than 3000 years in China.  

In 1972, President Nixons visit to China brought acupuncture to the U.S.

The FDA classified acupuncture needles as medical devices in 1996.

A National Institute of Health panel found acupuncture to be an acceptable treatment for many pain conditions in 1997.

An estimated 15 million Americans try acupuncture each year.
